Laurence Geller
Laurence S. Geller CBE is currently founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Geller Capital Partners. He is also founder, Chairman and Chief Executive of Loveday and Co,, the UK’s pioneering and leading edge high-end dementia care residential facilities. Geller is an accomplished businessman and entrepreneur who has led multi-national corporations in the hospitality industry, most recently as Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: BEE), a company he founded in 1997.
Prior to Strategic Hotels an Resorts, Laurence Geller was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Geller & Co., a gaming, tourism and lodging advisory company he founded in 1989 specializing in domestic and international hotel, casino an d tourism corporate and real estate development, financing, structuring, restructuring and asset management.
Previously, Mr. Geller held positions as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hyatt Development Corporation where he also was co-founder of Classic Residence by Hyatt, the first branded senior living company in the US (now trading as Vi Living) and responsible for brand extensions and new business lines , Senior Vice President of Holiday Inns, Inc. (initially responsible for the International Division and subsequently, both the International and the North American Division’s growth, financing, franchising, brands extension, divisersified businesses and operations) and Director of Grand Metropolitan Hotels in London.
Mr. Geller serves on the Board of Michels & Taylor (London) Ltd. He is a former Vice Chairman of the Urban Land Institute’s Commercial and Retail Council, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of the Industry Real Estate Financing Advisory Council of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (a position he has held for six previous non-consecutive two-year terms).
Mr. Geller served on the Board and Executive Committee of Choose Chicago, is on the Board of Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, the American Jewish Committee and served on the Board World Tourism Council. He is Past Chairman of the British American Business Council for the Mid West He served on the Midwest Council of Unicef. Mr. Geller is Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the International Churchill Society a position he has help for two decades. He is a member of the Board of RUSI (Royal United Services Institute), Chairman of the Imperial War Museum Foundation in the United States. He is the founder of the National Churchill Leadership Center located at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. Mr. Geller is Global Business Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society having served as Chairman of the Society’s fundraising activities. He was Founder and Chairman of the Atlas Foundation US entity promoting Rugby Education for deprived children throughout the Americas. Geller is a Founder and Chairman of Love Of The Game, the UK’s foremost charitable organization for prevention and mitigation of concussion in sport. He is the UK Government’s Ministerial Advisor on Concussion in Sport and chair’s the Government’s Innovation and Technology Forum for Concussion in Sport.
In March, 2023, he was appointed as Ministerial Adviser on Major Conditions to the Department of Health and Social Care. He is foumding Chairman of the Geller Commission on Dementia Care.
Laurence Geller is Ambassador for North America for the Hotel and Catering Institutional Management Association of the U.K Ambassador for the Culinary Institute of America, where he served a four year term as Director. In march 2023 he was made a Knight of the Disciples Of Escoffier.
