The challenges brought by the cost-of-living crisis affect employees in more ways than one. The impact on employees' mental health is significant, with 46% of employees worried about their financial situation and 26% of employees seeing a negative change in their mental health. With the reduced ability to spend on 'non-essentials', employees cannot find escape in hobbies, luxuries or any other entertainment, a further detriment to their mental health. Recognising, engaging employees and creating a positive company culture to support employees during these challenging times has never been so important as it is now.
